Find out how installing a Ductless HVAC System can benefit you and your family

For homes without ductwork, ductless mini-splits are the most cost-effective choice. They're quiet, easy to install, and very energy efficient, with operating costs as low as 40% down. They excellent at improving indoor air quality and reducing the amount of contaminants that enter homes through ducting. However, this isn't all. The built-in air filtration of ductless systems reduces dust, pollen, allergens, bacteria, and other pollutants.

Ductless system can also cool individual areas in your home, such as an office, guest room, sun room, screened-in porch, fitness room, playroom, and so on. They are small and can be installed on the wall or on the ceiling.

So I called Breeze Masters because the ductwork in my kitchen was leaking and someone started wrapping the ductwork but didn’t finish. Well they came out and quickly realized it wasn’t condensation causing the problem. They went and checked my unit and diagnosed the real problem(s). Turns out the ductwork didn’t need to be insulated… they did a THOUROUGH inspection! How do I know? This wasn’t my first rodeo with my unit! They were professional, efficient and took the time to tell me EVERYTHING they did and how to make sure I don’t have the same issue again. They even went so far as to check back with me the next day to make sure there were no more leaks and the unit was running properly. They are based in VA and I am in Southern MD, I am so appreciative of them coming to me! They will be who I call and recommend for any and all who might need a recommendation! I am already planning to have them come out next spring to make sure my system is ready for the summer!

  • What is a ductless air conditioner unit?

The terms ductless air conditioner, ductless mini-split HVAC unit, and ductless mini-split heat pump are all used to describe electric heating and cooling systems. A ductless system has one outdoor AC condenser or heat pump and can have one or multiple air handler units connected inside the house to that. An indoor air handler is mounted on the wall, which directly blows air into the room. For a house without ducts, this type of system is very cost-effective to install and can cool or heat each individual area based on the desired temperature.

  • How are ductless AC system components connected?

The outdoor air handler of a ductless AC unit is connected to the indoor air handler by a component called the line set. A hole approximately 2- to 3-inches in diameter is cut through the exterior wall where a line runs, containing the electrical wiring , drain line and copper tubing connecting the units. Products are available to cover up the line set for a better exterior line set aesthetic.

  • Are ductless AC units a new type of technology?

While ductless AC may seem like a new type of heating and cooling technology, it has actually been around for decades. The first systems were made in the 1970s. Since then, ductless AC units have been widely used throughout Asia and Europe. In the United States, ductless AC units have been used for more than 20 years, largely in commercial cooling applications.

Why Ductless Heating and Cooling Right for You?

The ductless heat pump, also known as a mini-split, is a highly adaptable HVAC alternative due to its lack of ductwork. Retrofitting ducting into the framework of an older or historic home can be highly costly and time consuming. Mini-splits are easy to install and can be placed almost anyplace in the house. This allows you to construct zones where each region may be controlled independently. Ducts also accumulate dust, which reduces efficiency and causes allergies.
